CE Marking
CE stands for the French acronym “Conformité Européenne" and it’s a regulatory marking indicating that these products sold in European market meets the health, safety and environmental conditions as required by the European Union.
CE marking certification is a mandatory to export products to European Union – Countries falling under European Union.
By applying CE Marking (after certification) on the product & issuing an “EU Declaration of Conformity” one assures his product to be distributed, sold and used without restrictions in any part of the European Economic Area (EEA) regardless of its country of origin.
Only CE marked products shall meet the set of regulations published by the European Union (EU) known as directives such as Machinery Directive (MD)-2006/42/EC, Low Voltage Directive (LVD) - 2014/35/EU, Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC) - 2014/30/EU, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) - 2015/863.
How to get CE marking
- Ensure compliance with all relevant EU-wide requirements.
- Ascertain whether one can assess the product by individually or if you have to involve a notified body.
- Put collectively a technical report documenting compliance: find out about technical documentation.
- Draft and sign off an EU declaration of conformity for the products.
